Reps. Gina McCabe and Norm Johnson appear on KIHR

Rep. Gina McCabe, R-Goldendale, and Rep. Norm Johnson, R-Yakima, talked with KIHR about activities at the statehouse now that the cutoff date for policy bills has come and gone.  McCabe shared that of the eight bills she has introduced, seven have moved forward.  Lawmakers continue to review the eighth measure, Erin’s Law, which would make way for a task force to consider how to best implement age-appropriate abuse curriculum in the schools.

Johnson was blunt as he discussed the recent actions of Jay Inslee following the Senate ousting of Transportation Secretary Lynn Peterson.  Inslee traveled to Eastern Washington to decry the move and called the firing, ‘a political stunt.’  Rep. Johnson didn’t mince words in expressing his ire; and he called on the governor to stay home and ‘clean his own house.’
